Acidic Rust Stain Remover, Metal Brightener & Pre-Paint Treatment
CR Degreaser D is a concentrated acidic tank cleaning additive formulated with active detergents and acid activators to rapidly remove severe rust stains, mineral scale, carbon residues, and post-alkaline whitish stains from metal surfaces. Widely used as a metal brightener and surface conditioner before priming and painting, it also cleans boiler rooms, ovens, and galley equipment.
- Rust & Scale Elimination: Rapidly dissolves rust stains, corrosion scales, and discoloration from steel, porcelain, and enamel surfaces.
- Metal Brightener & Primer Prep: Conditions, passivates, and brightens metal bulkheads prior to application of paint systems.
- Post-Alkaline Washdown: Eliminates white chalky haze and carbonate deposits following caustic tank cleaning cycles.
Spraying Method: Never use neat. Dilute 5% CR Degreaser D with 95% water and apply directly with a high-pressure sprayer. Let stand for 10 to 15 minutes at ambient temperature before washing off with water.
Circulation Method: Dilute 0.2% to 3% in water (or 5% for general tank cleaning) and circulate with a deep well pump for 2 to 5 hours at 40°C – 45°C (up to 65°C – 85°C for heavy deposits). Precaution: Keep cleaning temperature at least 10°C below the lowest boiling point component of previous cargo.
Descaling & Metal Brightening: Dilute 1 part CR Degreaser D to 5 parts water to remove scale and discoloration before painting.
Parts Immersion: Soak components in a 3% to 8% solution bath using plastic containers only.

Application Areas: Cargo tanks, lines, rusted bulkheads, boiler firesides, and kitchens. Effective against residues of crude palm oil, tallow, molasses, cement lime, carbon, and coal soot.
Mixing & Handling Rules: Acid-based concentrate. Use only plastic or stainless steel buckets—never ordinary mild steel containers. Always add acid to water, never water to acid. Wear full protective clothing and safety goggles. Rinse splashes with copious water immediately and seek medical attention.
